Bobby Pointon knows the Bantams must be fully focused ahead of this Saturday's final game of the regular league season against Newport County.
Pointon grabbed the first goal in City’s thrilling 2-1 away win against Barrow on Tuesday evening, and is happy the hard work is paying off with minutes on the field.
However, with one game to go, and knowing City must win to stand any chance of securing a play-off spot, Pointon knows he and his teammates must remain concentrated on the task at hand.
“It is all eyes on Saturday, now,” he said.
“Everyone is dealing with the emotions well. There are always emotions in football, you just cannot let that get the better of you.
“We are all dealing with that side of the game well, coming down to the last stages of the season, and the last game on Saturday.
“We just have to keep our heads, stick to the gameplan and follow through with it.
“I have continued to work hard, show the manager I want to play, show that I want to be starting games.
“I got my chance from the manager, and I think that I have taken my chance well, and I will continue to work hard to improve.”
City’s No.23 praised the spirit of the side following their away victory at the SO Legal Stadium, making it four wins on the bounce, and six unbeaten for City, adding that the Bantams "grafted" for those three points, hoping the momentum can lead into Saturday.
The 20-year understands the importance, but is looking forward to City’s final game of the season, where Newport County visit the University of Bradford Stadium. He hopes the Bantams faithful will turn up in numbers to create a memorable atmosphere.
“It [Tuesday] was a game of emotions,” Pointon added.
“We took the lead, then we conceded but we reacted to the setback well and scored a late winner.
“Emotions were high, but we grafted for the three points and we got the win.
“Barrow is a hard place to go, and we came away with what we wanted. Hopefully, we can on Saturday too.
“It will be unreal on Saturday. I know what it means to the fans, and it means a lot to me.
“The more the merrier. We want it loud, we want the supporters to be vocal, we want the supporters to be off their seats.
“Hopefully, it is an atmosphere that can get us going, start strong, and follow us through the game.
“Games like this are massive, especially at VP. I cannot wait for Saturday.”
