BOWYER RELISHING 'EXCITING' CHALLENGE

Gary Bowyer is looking forward to an exciting contest when his Bantams welcome Swindon Town to the Utilita Energy Stadium tomorrow.

The high-flying Robins have enjoyed an impressive start to theirt 2019/20 campaign, sitting fifth in Sky Bet League Two on 20 points.

The City manager is a keen admirer of the way Saturday's visitors play and is confident the clash will prove an intriguing spectacle.

Bowyer said: "Swindon are a good team with several good players.

"They play very well, with the ball, in a certain way. They are a possession-based side, so we will have to be prepared to play without the ball, at times.

"But we carry an attacking threat, too, especially with our fantastic home supporters willing us on.

"So, it should be an exciting game - with two similar styles going head-to-head.

"We just need to make sure we are more clinical in the attacking phase.

"Over the past couple of games we have had a lot of the possession and won a lot of corners.

"We carry a big threat, up front, and need to take advantage of our opportunities better, to give ourselves the best possible chance."

Despite Saturday’s visitors currently holding a strong league position, Bowyer is keen not to read too far into the current standings.

Although 11 matches into the campaign, the Bantams boss believes the table is still to take some shape and remains surprised by the fortunes of some sides.

"I still do not think the league has settled down, yet," Bowyer added.

"Ten games is usually the benchmark for the league to start developing, but I do not think it is anywhere near to being there.

"We still see teams - all over the table - who we would maybe not expect to be where they are.

"So it will be a while before the table gives any indication towards the best teams in the league which shows how difficult of a season it will be, for everyone."
